Switchback UV Curing System that allows the use of three interchangeable lamp types.

Switchback is the most sophisticated, versatile UV curing system available. It expands M & R's patented reflector technology by increasing lamp output to 400 watts and adding infinitely variable adjustment (from 160 to 400 watts). Switchback's reflector system can handle three interchangeable lamp types; Mercury Vapor (standard), Gallium, and Ferric (iron) Oxide. Switchback automatically adapts to each lamp type. Operators do not have to be trained to change settings or move jumpers. It's as simple as changing a bulb. Because of the minimal time and effort required, operators can easily switch back and forth among the three bulb types. Since operators can maximize curing speed and minimize substrate temperatures by selecting the appropriate lamp, Switchback makes possible a perfect match for virtually every curing requirement.

The optional dual-lamp system offers additional benefits. When successive jobs require different UV sources but only one bulb, operators can keep a different bulb in each of the two reflectors. This allows them to switch repeatedly between substrates requiring different light sources by doing nothing more than activating the power lamp. The ability to easily select the right lamp and fine-tune wattage enables the dual-lamp Switchback to provide the optimal cure at the fastest possible speeds.

All these features-400 watts output, infinite wattage adjustment, interchangeable lamps, simplified bulb changing, and dual lamp versatility-speed setup operations, minimize operator skill requirements, and bring M & R's technological advances to bear on each substrate type for the best cure attainable. Like all M & R equipment Switchbacks are built with M & R's unsurpassed commitment to quality, durability, and design excellence, and are backed by the best service and support in the industry. Switchback is available in 24", 38", 48", 54", 60", and 72" widths and in 10' and 15' lengths in each width. They are also available as a single or double lamp system. Insignia Multi-Color UV printing and curing press.

Insignia is M&R's newest, most aggressively priced multi-color UV print/cure system. Insignia can print and cure up to 6 colors simultaneously without the need to cure and stack substrates between colors. Multi-color printing makes it possible to present a finished product for approval at the start of a production run and to make partial shipments without the teardown and setup required with single-color flatbed presses. The associated reduction in substrate handling prevents dimensional changes to stretchable substrates and is ideal for fragile substrates like glass.

Insignia offers maximum image areas of 25" x 38" (63 x 96 cm) and 30" x 40" (76 x 102 cm) in a press footprint considerably smaller than the combination of single-color print/cure systems that would be required to deliver six-color output. Printheads, table registration, and servo indexing meet the same top quality and performance standards of M&R's other graphic presses. Insignia cures substrates with stationary lamps mounted between printheads. Insignia's six cure lamps and eight vacuum beds result in an exceptionally compact multi-color UV print/cure system.

Each cure station features single-point focus adjustment so lamps can be optimized for materials of different thickness. Each lamp has independent wattage settings managed from the main control panel and is capable of fully independent operation. Lamps on Insignia's standard 300-watt cure system can be set at 125, 200, 250, or 300 watts per linear inch. For even greater latitude and control, Insignia offers optional double-lamp coverage and two optional UV curing systems: A 400-watt UV Curing System and the M&R Switchback UV Curing System™. The optional 400-watt system has settings of 160, 200, 300, and 400 watts per linear inch. The optional Switchback System allows operators to easily switch between three lamp types: Ferric (Iron) Oxide, Gallium, and Mercury Vapor (standard), and offers infinitely adjustable settings from 160 to 400 watts per linear inch. Double lamps can be specified for all cure stations or just certain stations. This means that operators who only require additional curing just prior to stacking need only order double lamps at the last cure station. Insignia's versatility and wide range of configurations allows it to offer outstanding quality and UV curing performance at an amazing price. Discovery Multi-Color Inline UV Print / Cure System.

With its 44" x 64" (112 x 163 cm) maximum image size, M&R's Discovery Multi-Color Inline UV Print/Cure System bridges the size gap between M&R's Advantage and Processor Series inline presses. Discovery offers impressive features like electronically controlled central off-contact, carriage high-lift settings that allow users to unload screens while leaving squeegee and floodbar in the machine, reducing setup and teardown times, and optional dripless squeegee attachments that automatically flip to the opposite direction against the front of the floodbar before the flood stroke begins, preventing ink from dripping into the image. Discovery also features flat flood capability, an electronically adjustable ink retrieval system, and a digital microprocessor with self-diagnostics. An above-table double-sided sheet locator allows the operator to load from any corner for double-sided work, and a moveable load table simplifies the loading of smaller substrates. Discovery's park position allows floodbar and squeegees to be raised and moved to the front or rear without flooding or printing, and allows easy squeegee and floodbar installation and removal. Squeegee pressure equalizer regulators ensure uniform squeegee pressure. Discovery's jog left/right feature allows the press to index in either direction. This allows the operator to alter the order of screen/color application on test prints without having to tear down and set up for each variation.

M&R's patented vacuum system holds substrates securely to a single moving table throughout the print/cure process; together with M&R's precise inline indexing table; it maintains exceptional substrate registration throughout the print/cure cycles. Adjustable blowback at the unload station aids operators in unloading stock. An optional takeoff system further improves productivity. Optional features include M&R's Zoned Vacuum System™, which ends the need for tape by allowing operators to quickly and easily limit vacuum to the area under the substrate.

Discovery's cure system features standard 300-watt lamps. Cure options include a 400-watt system and M&R's Switchback Cure System, infinitely adjustable from 160 to 400 watts. Switchback accepts three types of UV lamps: Mercury Vapor, Ferric (Iron) Oxide, and Gallium, allowing operators to select the optimal curing source and intensity for even the most difficult ink/substrate combinations. .
