Polyplus is a monocomponent, ready to use, UV ink system. for Polyplus requires a surface tension of 38 Dynes/cm or more and once printed, the optimal adhesion is rapidly obtained after curing. Polyplus has excellent inter-coat adhesion particularly on process color jobs. With Polyplus it is possible to use more open meshes however, we recommend 380 to start with. When using fine meshes the ink layer is considerably reduced which will increase the cure efficiency. The high pigment concentration of Polyplus allows the use of fine meshes while maintaining a very good density. Polyplus ink is ready to use; however, if desired it is possible to adjust the viscosity by adding MPG thinner (NVP free) but no more than10%. This series is available in gallons only
Substrates;
Polyplus is ideal for rigid and semi-rigid containers in polypropylene or polyethylene, PVC, PETG, and PETP.
Process Colors;
Polyplus offers 095 Base, 701 Mixing Black, 702 Mixing White in addition to 9 Pantone registered colors. These very dense colors offer the printer a great deal of latitude during the printing process ensuring only the highest degree of printing quality.
Curing;
Actual cure speeds will vary depending on ink-color chosen, mesh count/weave, type of UV lamp/settings, and other printing parameters that effect ink-film thickness. Ink adhesion can only be achieved if the ink film is adequately cured. Substrates having differing receptivity to UV ink or on Dyne/cm less than 38, it may be necessary to cure ink more effectively by the addition of MPG thinner or 098 base to achieve satisfactory adhesion.
Modification;
The opacity varies as a function of the color shade and depth of the ink deposit. An ink, which has been extended with base, can appear more opaque when printed with an open mesh than non-extended ink printed with a fine mesh. The addition of 3 to 5% white will often increase the opacity of a standard shade without affecting the apparent color. This ink series is ready to use, however, if required it is possible to adjust the viscosity by adding DILMPGA (MPG Thinner) but no more than 2 to 10% by weight.
Single package UV ink with very good chemical resistance to alcohol, detergents, and oils.
