MAX-R emulsion is a true universal emulsion designed for the broadest range of applications. MAX-R offers outstanding resistance to all ink types including water, solvent, co-solvent, UV, and plastisol based inks. With MAX-R you can be assured of its durability to withstand extremely long print runs. You will also find its exposure latitude and extremely fast exposures ideal for for most exposure units. MAX-R works effectively in hot and / or humid conditions.

 Data Facts:

Aqua in color, this dual-cure emulsion offers 37% sensitized solids and 5000 CPS sensitized viscosity. Excellent for solvent, plastisol, UV, and still offering some water resistance.  Once sensitized MAX-R emulsion should last 4 to 6 weeks. MAX-R will work well with mesh counts above 74 or higher.

Exposure Time Reference:

When using a 3KW Metal Halide Exposure lamp on mesh counts from 80 to 300 as a guide set your exposure time between 160-200 seconds.  On mesh counts of 300 to 350 allow 50 to 60 seconds exposure, and for mesh counts of 350 or more allow 30 to 45 seconds for exposure. Remenber, these exposure settings should only be used as a guide since exposure time will vary depending on equipment used, lamp life, type of emulsion, and applied coatings.

Coating Sequence:

It is not recommended to finish the last coating on the print side of the screen.  Finish the last coating on the squeege side.  If the coating ends on the print side, the E.O.M. thickness will decrease and go thinner on the print side.  This will cause premature stencil breakdown and poor ink deposit.

Resolution and Hardness:

Some printers do underexpose the screen to have details of images resolved on the screen.  Unless the number of printing impressions is very low, underexposed screens with poor hardness will cause many problems in the printing process, such as premature breakdown, more fish eyes, and pinholes, locking up emulsions with inks, ink cleaners, or other chemicals.  It is important therefore, to locate and standardize a proper exposure time and a good hardness scale by mesh count and coating profiles.
