Direct/Indirect is a two-part system developed and patented by Chromaline, consisting of a formulation-matched film and emulsion.  The film assures excellent print quality, the emulsion assures excellent durability.  The process is inherently stable with predictable results. Direct/Indirect is a fast, easy-to-use stencil system for use with UV, plastisol, and solvent-based inks.

Data Facts:

B-200 is violet in color offering 50 microns ( 2.0 mil ) thickness. Ideal for mesh counts of 150 and coarser and it is not applicable for Four Color Process printing. Chromaline's D-2 Transfer Emulsion contains a special diazo sensitizer tailored for maximum performance.

Coating Sequence;

Cut your film to completely cover the image area. Once your film is cut place a piece of cardboard or some paper onto the work/bench or area and place the cut film on top of it ( emulsion side up ).  Next place your screen with the proper mesh count that corresponds to the type of film you are working with on top of the cut piece of film (mesh to emulsion side film). Pour a small amount of D-2 Transfer Emulsion across the top area of the screen and using a squeegee, screen the emulsion through, from top to bottom. This should adhere the film to the print side of the screen.   If any part is missing the emulsion coating, repeat the step, until you have a nice even coating. Place the coated screen in a drying rack, print side down, until completely dry.  When fully dry remove the clear film backing and your ready to expose your positive and create a stencil.

Suggested Applications:

Apparel/T-shirts, Four Color Process, Thick ink/Glitter, Banners, Posters/Signs, Decals, Solder Mask, Primary Imaging Nomenclature, Bottles/Containers, Glass Decorating, and Ceramic Decals.

Resolution and Hardness:

Some printers do underexpose the screen to have details of images resolved on the screen.  Unless the number of printing impressions is very low, underexposed screens with poor hardness will cause many problems in the printing process, such as premature breakdown, more fish eyes, and pinholes, locking up emulsions with inks, ink cleaners, or other chemicals.  It is important therefore, to locate and standardize a proper exposure time and a good hardness scale by mesh count and coating profiles.
