Our Double Bevel-Single Durometer squeegee was designed for container printers working with an assortment of containers. The sharp edge provides excellent control for printing on a wide variety of cylindrical, oval, conical, and tapered substrates. Available in hardnesses ranging from 70 to 90 durometer and for both the semi-automatic and automatic printers. Harder durometer squeegee will generally wear better and resist solvents, especially those made of vulkollan material. You will also find it easier to maintain finer detail and thinner deposits of ink with the use of a harder squeegee. A "V" shape profile provides maximum adaptability, reduced printing pressure, and a printing angle that is less than the set angle. The flexible nature of this profile adapts well to uneven, irregular surfaces and substrate contours which are common in container and bottle printing. Double Bevel squeegee is available by the inch and in full lengths of 140 inches.
As with all urethane squeegee they should always be stored flat in a dry (50% Relative Humidity) environment at room temperature. (approximately 60-70 degrees F) Storage at temperatures below 60 degrees F may show an increase in durometer. This increase has no influence on the physical properties or the performance of the polyurethane. Under these storage conditions, the shelf life of the squeegee is approximately one year. Older squeegees often show increased printing performance. Our squeegee will darken in color when exposed to UV and fluorescent light at a slow rate. This change in color does not effect the physical properties or the ink / solvent resistance of the polyurethane.
Achieving the best screen printing performance and productivity is greatly dependent on the selection of the squeegee for your graphic application and proper squeegee maintenance. When printing, monitor production time and rotate squeegees frequently. (The necessary rotation frequency is dependent on the ink involved in the application, UV or solvent-based) By doing so, you will achieve a more uniform print quality and increase the life of your squeegees. A squeegee should always be wiped clean and dry following removal from the press and stored in a dry environment at room temperature. The blade should be allowed to recover from the ink and solvent attack and rest for a period of 24 hours. It can then be placed back into production, or if necessary re-sharpened and placed back into production.
Many different bevels are available and for our web site we have chosen the most popular. If you have a special profile that interests you or one that your equipment requires, please be sure to contact our sales department at sales@screenworkssupply.com or simply give us a call at 1-800-551-5524.
