While the squeegee and its selection are one of the most important tools in the screen printing process, it is also the most neglected. Squeegee blades are intended to fit the job as well as the screen size and should not overlap the image by more than 0.5" to 1.0" at either end of the image. When working with images such as in close tolerance, process printing, graphics, and graphic overlays, using a squeegee that is clearly too long for the image will yield less than desired printing results. The nearer the squeegee blade is to the inside of the frame, the greater the amount of image distortion and lack of ink uniformity will be reflected in the print. Today, high density polyurethane squeegee is by far the most popular worldwide. At Screenworks Supply we work closely with several leading squeegee manufactuers bring you, the screen printer the latest in squeegee technology.
